We took Norm & Diana on an ATV trip in to Martinez Canyon. We had been into the canyon back in January so it was neat to go again now and see the changes as we are heading into spring. We look like we are dressed for winter but we left early in the morning and it still tends to be cool first thing in the morning as we are in the desert. We trailered our ATV's down to Florence and came in through Box Canyon. I was driving the ATV with Diana as my passenger and Doug drove Bruce's machine with Norm as his passenger. As I was driving, I couldn't take any pictures on the drive in.
This cave used to be the site of a bordello in the days of the old mining town just above this sight
Another beautiful wild flower that I don't know the name of! I just ordered 2 Arizona wildflower identification books from Amazon and just waiting for them to come so I can actually put names to the wildflowers!
The red rock cliffs in Martinez Canyon are so beautiful

We are all sitting around the old mining town-site having our lunch. As you can see it has warmed up and we are shedding clothes. I just realized this was the last ride Dale made with us. He is the big fellow sitting right behind me. He died instantly in a motorcycle accident here in Mesa on Friday March16th. Dale and Molly are from Alberta. An elderly lady made a left turn right in front of him. he had no chance to stop. He was 72 years young and we will all miss him

We stopped up on a hill to look at the scenery
It was a great day of ATVing and it was fun to share the experience with Norm & Diana
