Catherine's Visit

We were lucky to have Catherine come visit us for a week over her spring break at University. She is just completing her third year of her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. It was a long trip for her to come from Yellowknife but definitely warmer here in Arizona. It was -35 degrees when she left and 26 degrees when she arrived here. She had been pretty sick over Christmas with both Mono and a Strep throat infection so she was just wanting to relax and enjoy the warm sun. That was fine with us as Doug's brother Norm and Diana had just been here for 8 days and in fact they overlapped one day with Catherine so we were also ready to slow down and enjoy some relaxing time also.

Catherine was wanting to go ATVing so we took her out in the desert. As long as she drove with me she behaved but when she and her Dad went out on their own...well I'll show you the results later on in the blog!

Catherine figured I had been a bank robber in my past and she was getting ready to mix chemicals in her getup!

We figured she was catching bugs in this picture

This was Catherine taking pictures with her camera as we drove along, we definitely have different skin tones!

I told her to go hug a cactus - she actually picked this cactus for her Aunt T - if she reads this blog she will understand!

That is Doug coming along behind us, it was so dusty out there we had to keep a fair distance apart to not get choked with dust

 Doug catching up to us

Doug was off looking for the grinding holes in the rocks left by the American Indians many years ago

He finally found them, they are so cool. You can just visualize the woman grinding their corn and nuts in these holes

This is how Catherine think she drives!

 Catherine's ATVing hairdo!

Eagle's nest in a saguaro cactus. You can see the eagle's tail sticking out of the nest

Catherine and I went for a pedicure, again I am sure you can tell which are my feet and which are hers!

Since Catherine was so sick at Christmas and didn't get a chance to have Christmas or Christmas dinner, we celebrated Christmas in March. Our friends Trent and Ann joined us and Trent made her a beautiful belt buckle with a Sonoran Dendrite stone polished and inserted into a belt buckle

A little late for Christmas but a bit early for St. Paddy's day so we gave her a t-shirt

Trent, Ann, Doug, Catherine and Sharon enjoying turkey dinner in March!

We loved to spend the day just relaxing and reading a good book!
