New Year's Eve & Day

The weather has remained very cool for Arizona and we figure these Edson, Alberta people must have brought the cold with them! The Phoenix news said this is the coolest Christmas since 1987! Ugh... It doesn't seem to bother these hardy grand children though as they are in the pool every day for hours on end! I have resorted to sitting at the side of the pool and watching them. I know "I'm a wussssss" but what can I say? New Year's Eve arrived but we didn't have any particular plans.

We have a quail block out in our yard and kids are enthralled watching the silly quail. They are very entertaining I must say!

Grandpa is showing Luke how to hold the cracker to make it "bang" of course the louder the better for Luke!

Hannah is checking to see what surprise she got in her cracker

We are having a great time putting our hats on! Of course Grandma got a yellow hat and that is her least favorite colour so when Luke wasn't looking, I quickly trader my hat for his. He looks great in yellow!!

I had made great Grandma McCloskey's butterscotch cookies cut out in Christmas figures and the kids loved them so much they had eaten them all in about 5 days! I thought I had made enough for the whole 2 weeks. Here we are decorating the second batch of cookies and it is only two days later and they are nearly gone again!! The kids think I'll just make a third batch.....not sure about that!

Hannah loves to pose for the camera where as Luke is more interested in eating the cookies!

This is New Year's Day and the kids are stretched out in the loungers pretending to sun tan! It really isn't warm enough but don't tell the kids that!
